Article Abstract

Depression is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide and affects 121 million people. Individuals with depression experience significant cognitive, behavioral, and physical impairments related to this disorder. Although depression is a highly treatable illness, the majority of patients with depression do not receive adequate treatment, and few patients who do receive adequate treatment achieve full symptomatic remission.
